The outside back arrived in the city from Australia on Wednesday afternoon, having made the move to the Knights from Queensland Hostplus Cup side Sunshine Coast Falcons earlier in the week.
Whilst Galeano is a relative unknown to UK fans, he boasts a fine try-scoring record, having scored 41 times in 60 appearances since making his Hostplus Cup debut in 2022.

And with left-sided outside backs Brad Ward and Myles Harrison injured, Ben Jones-Bishop dropping out of the preliminary squad and Levi Edwards unavailable, his arrival is a timely one for Applegarth’s side.
“Clint [Goodchild, chairman] has been tracking him for a good year, and he made me aware of him in pre-season,” said the Knights boss of his newest recruit.
“As soon as the possibility came to sign him, I was delighted.
“He’s a very strong carrier of the ball, he’s an outside back, a winger or a centre. I think he’ll complement our back line and the people we’ve already got here really well.
“He’ll add more competition. It’s fair to say that we’ve been a little bit light on our outside backs throughout the year. I know it’s early, but with the injury situation how it is.
“In fact, I’m going to meet him straight after this, so he should be in contention for Sunday, all being well.”

Despite having only just arrived in the country, and indeed York, Applegarth feels as though the best thing to do is to throw Galeano straight into the action.
“The best way to integrate people is to just throw them in at the deep end and find your feet,” the head coach explained.
“He’s literally getting off the train as we speak now. He stayed in London last night, so he’ll be up into York this afternoon. No doubt he’ll get a good night’s sleep again, meet a few of the lads later today and we’ll get him into training and see how he’s looking.”
“I don’t have to worry about that. Clint and the team do a fantastic job.
“I just have to make sure the player feels settled, knows what to expect from our training environment, what to expect from training standards and matchday standards.
“It’s a fantastic set-up at the club, Clint and the team do the rest.”
