Fangfoss, a village located between York and Pocklington, is preparing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its well-known festival – Fangfest – which celebrates the ‘practical arts’.
The event, which is held from 10am to 4pm on September 6 and 7, exhibits the work of artists and encourages visitors to try out new skills with opportunities ranging from a chance to try using a potter’s wheel to spoon carving and chocolate making.

There are also new events set to take place including circus skills and balloon bending by Professor Fiddlesticks, a cooking demo held by new interior design business Foss Interiors, and an updated millennium screen made by the ladies of the village on show in St Martin’s Church.
A mobile museum will also be brought by Pocklington and District Heritage Trust.
