Gail Loman, played by Rachael Gill-Davis, was reported to be leaving the ITV soap earlier this year.
The actress first arrived on the programme permanently in 2023, after a brief appearance in 2019 when she went on a date with Ryan Stocks (James Moore).
But now viewers have been teased over what kick-starts Gail’s decision to leave the Yorkshire Dales (for now).
Next week: Driven by desperation, Steph resorts to extreme measures to change how she looks, and the hunt for Nate continues as John spirals in his web of lies.

Is Gail Lorman leaving Emmerdale?
Fans don’t need to panic as she won’t be “killed off”, instead they will see her relationship with Ryan, who she shares son Oscar with, come to an end.
It seems Gail tells Ryan that she is no longer in love with him, in heartbreaking scenes set to air next week.
Emmerdale spoiler pictures appear to show the pair playing a couples’ game at Mandy’s salon but Gail soon becomes “frustrated”.
Stills from the episode also reveal “shocked” looks on both Mandy and Paddy’s faces as Ryan appears to get an answer about his girlfriend wrong, according to Digital Spy.
A devastated Gail then tells Ryan her true feelings, leaving him stunned as he “begs” her not to leave him.

An Emmerdale source explained: “What should be a fun time at the salon turns sour very quickly for Gail and Ryan.
“Ryan had no idea that Gail was feeling this way and it may already be too late for him to fix things between them.
“At one point the couple seemed like they were on a great path, but that’s all changed now…”
A source previously discussed Rachel’s departure from the ITV soap with The Sun, sharing: “Rachael has loved her time on the show but it’s time to go.

“Bosses felt the character wasn’t inspiring much story and so it was all very amicable.
“The door has been left open but it’s a definite goodbye for now.
