The pair arrived on initial two-week deals from Betfred Super League strugglers Hull FC earlier this month, following Black and Whites teammate Charlie Severs through the doors at the LNER Community Stadium.
That period is now up – but both appear to have made a real impact upon Henderson’s side, with two of the Knights’ three Betfred Championship wins so far coming in the last fortnight.
Litten found the whitewash on debut after pouncing on a loose ball during the second half of their 40-18 victory against Halifax Panthers last weekend before being forced off with a facial injury at Swinton Lions on Sunday, whilst Pele made sure of victory in Manchester, putting the icing on the Knights’ cake as they astonishingly recovered from a 22-point deficit to take the spoils.
And with Will Dagger having also been withdrawn against the Lions after Jordan Gibson’s red-card high tackle that left him with a nasty gash to his chin, Litten’s cover at full-back is again vital for Henderson’s side.
The Knights boss feels that the pair have added a real energy to his squad since their arrivals, and is keen to extend their initial loans.
He said: “I think [that the loans can be extended]. I’m hopeful that we’ll have both Franklin and Davy.
“We’ve now had that initial two weeks, so it will roll on now week to week, and I’m hopeful that we’ll keep them until if and when they’re called back.
“I’m hoping that fingers crossed, they won’t be, but there’s always that risk with loan players and dual registration players of ‘do you get them each week or not’. It’ll be no different with these guys on loan.
“At this stage, I’m hopeful that we’ll have both of them available for next week.
“If we don’t because they get called back, we have to adapt and overcome. That’s the nature of the beast when you’re relying on loans and dual registration players.”
