In addition to the British brews, a selection of European beers and lagers from 20 locations across the continent will also be available. They too promise a range of styles and flavours.
Added to this, will be over 35 traditional ciders from across the UK plus world wines, meads and prosecco.
In recent days, York CAMRA has published the full list of beers and ciders on its website, with its Facebook page also featuring maps, pin-pointing the locations of where they came from.
Festival organiser Karl Smith told the Press: “We are keeping some focus on the excellent beers we have in York, but the idea this year is to offer brews not available in the great pubs of York.
“We have gone further afield and we have discovered a lot of good stuff. We are trying to offer something you cannot readily get. That’s our beer philosophy this year.”
This year, the second at St Lawrence Parish Church, features more marquees, promising more shelter and more seating under cover. Everything is also in the church, including the tombola.
Karl continued: “One of the highlights of the festival is the chance to discover beers that are simply unavailable elsewhere in York at any other time. Whether you’re a seasoned beer enthusiast or simply looking to try something new, there’s something for everyone”
“St Lawrence Parish Church, an extraordinary building second in size only to York Minster, provides a truly unique and atmospheric setting for the festival. With its historic architecture and beautiful stained glass windows, the church creates a memorable and immersive experience for visitors.
“The York Beer & Cider Festival is a must-visit event for beer lovers and those seeking a unique and enjoyable experience. It’s also family friendly with under 18’s welcome until 8pm daily and a big beer garden outside as well as top notch street food to suit people’s tastes and dietary needs.”
Karl added: “We are getting on with it and are keen and ready to go. We have plenty of volunteers and we cannot wait for the big delivery day, tomorrow (Friday).”
