A photo of Mr Chippy’s famous mushy peas is now featured on Wikipedia’s official entry for mushy peas.
The image, uploaded by a fan, is representing this classic British dish to the world – and raising the profile Mr Chippy, which operates from 2 Church Street.
Owner Andy Pericleous said: “We always knew our mushy peas were a local legend – now they’re global! To go from a humble side to internet fame is brilliant. Who would’ve thought our peas would end up on Wikipedia? We’re claiming the glory – one scoop at a time!”
