Super Metroid deserves all its flowers; it has an outstanding map that's a joy to get lost in 30+ years later. Its atmosphere is rich, backed by legendary music and a few surprisingly powerful story beats. But Fusion's my favorite among the two. It's definitely well liked, but not nearly as much as its predecessor, probably for being a lot more railroaded by design. Though I think Fusion's basically a masterpiece for what it's trying to do. The action is so fluid yet challenging, and it lays on the horror elements thicker than probably any other Metroid. I love where it took the story, and overall had an unforgettably tense journey with the game. Though I understand why others would prefer Super. Is there anything you feel similarly about? I'd love to read some spicy takes. submitted by /u/chiggenboi |
