Ahead of the new Channel 4 series Patience continuing this week, you might be wondering where in York it was filmed – recognise the backdrop of any scenes yet?
The “intriguing” crime drama stars Ella Maisy Purvis as Patience Evans, who enters an “unpredictable” world when Detective Bea Metcalf (Laura Fraser) spots her “unique” crime-solving skills.
The programme began last week with the first two episodes airing on January 8 and 9.
The synopsis on Radio Times for the third episode airing tonight (January 15) explains: “The team are baffled when a young woman is found dead among the dinosaur display at a museum.
“The investigation leads them into the shadowy world of fossil smuggling, and Patience makes a startling deduction.
“Meanwhile, Detective Bea delves deeper into the world of neurodiversity and recognises parallels with her own family.”

Last year, production was also spotted at other various residential streets in the city, which will probably act as the show’s multiple crime scenes throughout the series.
As shared by Radio Times, Patience star Ella Maisy Purvis commented on her time in York: “York was just magical. Walking through The Shambles at around 3 or 4 o’clock felt like you were in some sort of Victorian film.
“I couldn’t get over how much the whole place felt like a move set, yet this was just where people actually lived.
“I have to admit, I’m quite prone to falling down and I’m a little clumsy – so trying to tackle those cobbles in a pair of loafers was a nightmare!”
