City of York Council has confirmed that Walmgate will be partially closed from 9.30am on Saturday, August 31, until 4pm on Sunday, September 1.
They said that closure will be in effect from its junction with Merchantgate up to a boundary which ends at the Watergate Inn.
Vehicles will be prohibited from using the stretch of road in question during the highway maintenance works.
Diversions will be in place.
