Live theatre is returning to Newby Hall with performances of Twelfth Night and Pride and Prejudice.
The Lord Chamberlain’s Men will present Shakespeare’s romantic comedy on Friday, August 15, as it was first performed – outdoors, with a male cast, Elizabethan costumes, music, and dance.
Staged on Newby’s West Lawn, tickets include access to the gardens from 12 noon, and visitors are invited to bring a picnic and chairs.
The performance starts at 7pm.
Tickets are £18 for adults and £10 for children, with free entry for under 4s.
The Church of Christ the Consoler, in Newby Hall’s grounds, will host an adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice on Thursday, September 11.
The one-act play, performed by This Is My Theatre, will commemorate the 250th anniversary of Austen’s birth (she was born on December 16, 1775).
The play starts at 7pm.
Tickets are £16 for adults, £12 for under-12s, and free for under-4s.
