Since STR8 JACKETS opened on High Street in Knaresborough in December, the business has become a firm favourite in the market town.
People are flocking for its range of toppings, which include coleslaw, cheese, chilli, beans, tuna mayo and coronation chicken. But the best seller is warm pulled pork and honey, with honey chilli chicken a close second.
Owner Emma Wilson came up with the idea for the business seven years ago in Ibiza.

She told the Press: “At the time I was a barber and after being diagnosed with breast cancer I decided life was for living and I needed to do something that makes a difference, so the planning for STR8 JACKETS began.
“This took longer than expected with other illnesses and covid hitting.”

Emma eventually found the perfect shop and she has always loved the “quirky town of Knaresborough.”
She continued: “This little shop became available so myself and my business partner went ahead.
“The shop had been a hairdresser for 40 years and needed a lot of work to bring it up to date, after 9 months of waiting for the go-ahead, we completely refurbished the shop to become STR8 JACKETS.”
Emma explains why she believes her business is doing so well.
She said: “We offer something unique and different, serving a healthy alternative that resonates, with our customers a traditional food that is set in a beautiful market town.
“Our potatoes are locally sourced with no pesticides used with a vibrant mouthwatering array of hot and cold fillings we also are introducing a Mediterranean style salad to compliment our potatoes.
“We hold a 5 star rating for food and hygiene we are open daily 11 till 4.30 apart from Sundays which we close unless there is an event in the town.”
