Today, just a few seconds of a WiFi outage can feel endless. When your internet disconnects during a rant, a show, or an important meeting, it’s more than a technical hiccup — it’s a disruption to your daily life.
PLDT Home Always On
Always On: A Smart Hybrid Modem to always keep you connected
When unexpected downtime occurs, PLDT Home’s Always On offers an innovative solution. This unique hybrid modem combines fiber and LTE, featuring an automatic switching system. When the fiber connection fails, the modem automatically transitions to unlimited LTE—no manual intervention, tethering, or prompts needed.
Once the fiber is back online, it seamlessly switches back without requiring you to manually reconnect your devices. It acts as a smarter backup, ensuring continuous connectivity without hassle.
If your connection has been on its backup LTE for 30 minutes straight, Always On automatically generates a fault ticket for you. This eliminates the need to call or wait in customer service queues. PLDT then handles the connectivity issue, allowing you to focus on your digital activities at home.
Powered by WiFi 6 technology, the PLDT Home Always On modem provides high-speed internet (up to 1 Gbps, based on your plan) to multiple devices, ensuring everyone in the household stays connected. Whether you’re working, streaming, or attending classes online, you can rely on a fast, stable connection that adapts to your lifestyle.
Internet outage? You can still be online.
PLDT Home Always On helps you stay connected even when fiber outages occur. While it can’t prevent outages, it automatically switches to backup LTE, allowing you to continue your activities while PLDT works to restore your main fiber service. Fiber interruptions can happen for reasons beyond anyone’s control. Here are a few real-world examples that highlight how Always On makes a significant difference during such outages.
The weather isn’t always fiber-friendly
According to PAGASA, the Philippines faces around 20 tropical cyclones a year. Strong winds, falling trees, and flooded lines regularly knock out fiber infrastructure. Undersea cable cuts are inevitable during these times. These major cable troubles take time to repair but with PLDT Home Always On, you still have internet access while waiting.
Cable theft is a real problem
Metro Manila accounts for over 60% of nationwide cable thefts in a year, according to a telco report. Stolen cables disrupt entire neighborhoods, bringing businesses, school, and remote work to a standstill. With Always On, you can stay online while fiber lines are being replaced.
Small creatures, big trouble
Sometimes, the real troublemakers aren’t the weather or thieves—they’re tiny rodents like squirrels lurking in the neighborhood. These creatures can be found in villages and cities alike, where they have been known to chew through fiber cables, causing outages that can take time to detect and repair. Fortunately, LTE backup ensures your internet remains connected during such unexpected interruptions.
Roadworks can cut you off
Underground fiber cables can be accidentally damaged during road construction, drilling, and digging—especially in urban areas. These unintentional cuts often cause sudden outages that take time to locate and repair.
PLDT Home Always On provides a continuous connection during such repairs. More than just an internet backup, it’s a smart, seamless solution for a world that can’t afford to pause. When unexpected fiber outages occur, you can rest assured your internet remains one step ahead.
