North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and footage after an attempted robbery in a Harrogate shop last night (January 29).
The incident took place just before 6pm at “Bilton’s Local” shop in King Edwards Drive and saw two men enter the shop before using a stick to threaten staff into opening the till.

After being challenged, the two men ran from the store empty-handed.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident to get in touch.
The two men are both said to be white, approximately 5ft 10in tall, and of slim build.
“The first man was wearing black trousers and a black jacket. He was also wearing a black hat and face covering and was wearing a rucksack.
“The second suspect was also wearing all black clothing, including a black face covering, a rucksack, and carrying an implement described as a stick,” say police.
After leaving the store, police believe the suspects ran along King Edwards Drive towards Bilton Lane.
They are also asking motorists and residents to check their dashcam and doorbell video footage last night to see if it has captured the suspects in the area, either approaching the store or running away from it.
