Meanwhile, 28-year-old Ogbene has made nine appearances in all competitions for the Tractor Boys – with three this season – since joining the Championship club from Luton Town a year ago.
He has played 24 times for his country since making his debut four years ago, featuring for both Luton and Ipswich in the Premier League in that time.
The deal adds to the attack-minded signings that the Blades have brought in during the last week of the transfer window, including former Liverpool striker Danny Ings and former Manchester United midfielder Tahith Chong.
Ogbene told the club website, external: “It is an honour to be at a great club. I’ve lived here for four years, so I like to think I know what this club means to the people and the city. It is a huge honour to be here.
“I have a feeling about what Sheffield United means to the people, so to be part of it now and to be immersed into this club which has over 130 years of incredible history, and has a passionate fanbase, it is something I want to be part of.”
