Rail travel between York and Leeds has been partially blocked today after a point failure in the Church Fenton area.
Northern have said that Network Rail staff are on site and that disruption is expected until around 6.30pm today (July 11).
This follows two other incidents to the north of York today.
There is also disruption due to an earlier lineside fire between York and Darlington and a points failure at Darlington.
On their website, LNER said: “We strongly advise you to avoid travelling if you can. Trains are running, but there is major disruption, and you may be heavily delayed and/or experience severe overcrowding.”
