Megaworld Hotels & Resorts Celebrates Earth Hour 2025.
In honor of Earth Hour this year, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts (MHR) has proudly unveiled ‘Petals to Purpose,’ a remarkable initiative that intertwines sustainability with the rich tapestry of cultural heritage, spotlighting the Sampaguita—the beloved national flower of the Philippines. From now until March 22, guests at MHR’s hotels are invited to participate by purchasing a precious Sampaguita seedling for just Php 60. These seedlings will be lovingly planted in Bulacan, in collaboration with the Project PEARLS Foundation, a dedicated non-profit organization committed to uplifting impoverished children and their families through comprehensive access to education, healthcare, nutrition, and empowerment programs. By joining this initiative, guests not only contribute to reforestation efforts but also support vital community development, nurturing both the environment and the lives of those in need.
Guests can purchase a Sampaguita seedling for Php 60 in all Megaworld Hotel & Resorts properties.
“Small actions lead to big change. ‘Petals to Purpose’ exemplifies destination stewardship in action by embracing sustainability, cultural heritage, and community collaboration. With the help of our guests, we aim to gather at least 3,000 Sampaguita seedlings and plant them in our partner community. We envision a future where tourism coexists harmoniously with environmental responsibility. We invite everyone to be part of this transformative movement,” said Loleth So, Group Commercial Director of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts.
Guests will have the opportunity to obtain these exquisite seedlings through various avenues, including convenient online bookings, casual walk-in visits, and at hotel bars and restaurants. Each seedling will be adorned with a personalized tag featuring the guest’s name, beautifully symbolizing their dedication to environmental conservation. The MHR team will oversee the planting activity in a thoughtful manner, ensuring that guests feel connected to the process. To keep everyone engaged, guests will receive regular updates online, celebrating the growth and impact of their contributions to the environment.
During the same period, MHR Properties will present a delightful dessert meticulously crafted to embody the theme of sustainability. This exquisite no-bake creation showcases a medley of locally sourced ingredients artfully combined to evoke the enchanting appearance of an edible terrarium. Each sweet layer is thoughtfully designed, capturing the essence of nature and harmony. To add an exquisite touch, delicate Sampaguita petals will be elegantly incorporated, symbolizing the group’s commitment to exceptional service and care. Guests who partake in the Plant-a-Sampaguita initiative will be rewarded with a special offer on this delectable dessert, allowing them to indulge in a treat that not only delights the palate but also honors the earth.
