Disney+ has revealed the first teaser trailer for the second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which will premiere on the streaming service on Dec. 10, 2025. The teaser was first shared with fans at the TV show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, at which ScreenRant was in attendance.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2’s story will adapt the plot of Rick Riordan’s second Percy Jackson book, The Sea of Monsters. Thus, when Thalia’s tree is poisoned and Camp Half-Blood’s wards are jeopardized, Percy (Walker Scobell) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) set out on a new quest, with the help of different friends and allies.
At San Diego Comic-Con, the Percy Jackson cast talked about stunt work, character development, the expanding fantasy world, and some massive set pieces to come. This was before the teaser for Percy Jackson‘s second season was shared with the audience, and the premiere date confirmed. Check out the new teaser below:
What The First Teaser Means For Percy Jackson Season 2
Disney+ Reveals Many Different Things That Will Be Great In Season 2
This initial advertisement for the adaptation of The Sea of Monsters covers a lot of ground, showcasing how the story gets darker, but still features the series’ characteristic humor. Glimpses of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jason Mantzoukas as Hermes and Dionysus, respectively, promise that significant acting veterans will again be playing the gods of Olympus.
Disney has also released this trailer fairly early, allowing plenty of time for the hype to build before December.
However, the focus is rightfully on the younger cast, showing how Percy and Annabeth are undergoing more character growth as their circumstances become more dire. But this trailer is truly thrilling because of the first look it offers at several new characters and story moments from Percy Jackson‘s second book.
We get our first glimpse of Daniel Diemer as Percy’s half-brother Tyson, as well as the Gray Sisters, whom Percy and Annabeth briefly encounter during a humorous moment that foreshadows the future of their relationship. Disney has also released this trailer fairly early, allowing plenty of time for the hype to build before December.
Our Take On Percy Jackson Season 2’s First Teaser Trailer
Disney+ Is Faithful To The Source Material But Not Afraid To Build On It
What really interests me about this trailer for Percy Jackson is how it even shows some small details that will be shown from a different angle. For instance, we seem to actually see Luke poison Thalia’s tree, a moment that truly illustrates the extremes he will go to as he betrays a friend’s memory, which happens outside of Percy’s perspective in the book.
