North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service say they were called at 1.39pm today (January 28) to reports of a pair trapped inside an electric vehicle after the battery ran out.
A service spokesman said: “York crews attended following a report of two people trapped inside a vehicle.
“On arrival, crews found two people locked inside an electric vehicle after the remote battery had run out of power.
“They had made attempts to contact car manufacturer for remote assistance, however after some time had to resort to emergency services for assistance. Center point used to break window and release both persons inside, unharmed.”
