OLDER folk who no longer have a driving licence or passport may be able to solve their ID problems by producing their bus pass (photo ID) and the reverse of their bank card (signature ID).
How much more practical it would to able to produce a National Identity Card as they do in France, South Africa, Ireland and Belgium to name but a few forward-thinking countries?
This would also have the benefit of sorting out the illegal residents of our overcrowded little country – no ID – no job – no benefits – no NHS.
Many British citizens including the homeless do not have passports or driving licences and struggle to provide a valid ID. An English ID card for all legal residents would solve so many problems.
There is at the present time, a petition running which calls for the reintroduction of National Identity Cards.

Reeves right to go to China
SO, Shadow Chancellor Mel Stride says that Rachel Reeves should have been in London instead of promoting Britain in China all because of a small market fluctuation.
Yet during a proper market collapse and bond crisis, Liz Truss sent Kwasi Kwarteng to the USA even though she sacked him while he was mid-flight on the way back home.
The hypocrisy of the Conservative Party never ends!
The fact of the matter is that the state of the economy at the moment has nothing to do with Labour but is entirely down to a botched Brexit, a Tory black hole, and years of Tory infighting at the very heart of government that continues today even though they are thankfully in opposition.
Which is where, if I have any say, the Tories will be staying for a very long time.

Business lesson the Brits could learn from Trump
IS anybody else puzzled as to why Donald Trump’s offer to purchase Greenland is getting so much attention in our press at the moment?
Our surrender over the Chagos Islands is far more relevant to us and is an ever crazier situation.
Trump is suggesting he would make a land purchase, the kind of deal making he knows rather well and is approaching with a more conventional manner.
On the other hand our communist government is proposing to pay, yes pay, Mauritius to take our land away from us.
Land Mauritius has never owned and would prove very useful to their friends in Beijing.
If you are going to do a deal on land purchases, then at least make sure the people you’re giving it to are the ones paying through the nose for it rather than sending a bill to the pensioners of this country for the privilege of borrowing our own property back.

Governments can make a difference
WE are all aware of the devastating fires in America but the residents that have been affected know that the Government will rally round their plight and get the damage repaired ASAP and get normality resumed.
In Britain we would have a public inquiry and pay the legal eagles so the insurance companies were not liable for the cost the policy holders have incurred.
What a difference a caring Government can make.
Any crisis in Britain is sent to a public inquiry that takes years to resolve and never comes to a conclusion.
You only have to take the case of the sexually abused girls all over the country.
