Huddersfield Town sit top of the League One table with 10 points from four games and host the only other unbeaten side in Notts County on Saturday afternoon
Huddersfield Town head coach Martin Drury insists there is plenty of scope for his side to “get better” despite the Terriers sitting top of the League One table.
Town have made a strong start to their campaign, taking ten points from their opening four games to head up the division at this early stage.
The Terriers host the league’s only other unbeaten side Notts County next up tomorrow afternoon, who have claimed six points from their first four matches following their promotion from League Two last term.
On his side’s positive start, Drury said at his pre-match press conference: “We’re just trying to get better, and I don’t get drawn into the results of games. We want to keep improving and develop in the things that we’re doing.
“There’s some things that we’re doing really, really well at the moment, and that’s credit to the players on what they’re delivering. There’s some things that they are doing that is outstanding, but there’s plenty of things for us to get better at, and that’s the focus every day – what are we doing well? How do we continue to do that, and what are the other things that we need to get better at?

“That will always be the case whether we’re sat top of the league, bottom of the league or somewhere in between, we just work every day to try and improve and develop the things that we want to get better at that we know will give us a chance to compete and a chance to be successful, so there’s certainly no getting carried away at all.
“We’ve played four games and that’s it, and it’d be really naive to do so. We focus on what we can control, and we focus on developing the way we want to play.”
The Terriers have recorded victories over AFC Wimbledon, Cambridge United and Oxford United so far, as well as drawing away to MK Dons.
On their next test, Drury said: “I think there’s similarities in some of the opponents that we’ve faced, but definitely they do things in a slightly different way, in their own way.
“They’ve got that promotion bounce, really well organised, really hardworking, physical, aggressive, forward thinking, and we know it’s going to be a really, really competitive game for us, a real big challenge for us, so again it’s the next one on the list for us to go and embrace and look forward to, but definitely respectful of the threats that they have, and we know we’re going to have to be at our best in every single way.
“Physically, mentally, we have to be at our best for this opponent, so the players are aware of that. They’re aware of the type of game and the type of fixture that it will be for us, and we’re looking forward to embracing the next challenge.”
