Last week, the Two Brothers Pizzeria and Grill in the Courtyard, Knaresborough, announced it was closing on Sunday January 12, after nearly seven years.
However, the Two Brothers Take-Away in Chain Lane will continue.
Two Brothers Grill and Pizzeria first opened in March 2018 when brothers Nandor and Szilard Ravasz opened the restaurant with their wives Vivien Kovacs and Eniko Szenasi.

The popular restaurant was rated 4.6 stars out of five on Google, based on 747 reviews. TripAdvisor rated it 4.5 stars out of five, ranking it fifth out of 60 Knaresborough restaurants.
Co-owner Vivien Kovacs said the decision to close the restaurant was “difficult and emotional” and she was “completely heartbroken.”
Vivien also commented: “Despite our best efforts and lots of financial investments we have failed to overcome the challenges caused by the expenses of running a restaurant nowadays.”
Vivien’s Facebook post also thanked staff and customers.
She added: “Restaurant work is not easy. It takes commitment, thick skin, and a really good sense of humour. There are no words that clearly express the love we feel for our staff that worked so hard to keep the vision alive. It is so rare to find such a committed, hardworking, talented, and friendly staff anywhere. We became a family.”
News of the closure attracted more than 2,000 reactions and responses on Facebook.
Among them, Margaret Hammond said: “We are so sad to read this. We have celebrated a number of family events at Two Brothers. You have been an asset to Knaresborough and the restaurant will be missed. “
Laura Dudley posted: “I am absolutely gutted! You guys are such a massive asset to Knaresborough, a staple in awards and a go to for anytime I have friends or family visiting. I have visited with so many friends, family, friends and staff.
“I won’t lie, seeing you guys close is terrifying for a small business.”
Linda Willoughby said: “Oh my gosh. Such sad news. Unfortunately a sign of the really tough times in hospitality. Thank you for being a valued business in our community and probably the best Knaresborough restaurant we have had in years.”
