Fans of the Jumanji franchise have finally been given some good news about the Dwayne Johnson-led revival – the fourth movie in the action comedy saga will be arriving in theaters in 2026. Having successfully relaunched the franchise in 2017, more than 20 years after Robin Williams’ classic hit screens, the quick turn around of Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019 suggested that a fourth movie would be arriving soon after. Instead, it will have been a long seven-year wait thanks to a pandemic, strikes, and the increasingly hectic schedule of its lead star.
As reported by Deadline, Sony have now set December 11, 2026, as the release date for the fourth film in the franchise, which will be the third to team up Johnson with Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black, as the “in-game” versions of four teens who keep getting themselves sucked into the enchanted game. Having been in limbo for a long time, this will come as welcome news for the many fans of the franchise – but it also means there is still more than a two-year wait for the film to arrive in cinemas.
More to come…
