We’ve taken a look at the next five game
Huddersfield Town return to League One action on Thursday when they host Bolton Wanderers at the Accu Stadium.
The Terriers will be looking to bounce back following their 2-1 home defeat to Stockport County last time out on October 4. Town weren’t in action at the weekend, with their clash at Luton Town postponed due to international call-ups for the hosts.
Lee Grant’s side sit seventh in the League One table heading into Thursday’s fixture, having recorded 19 points from their opening 11 league games of the campaign.
We’ve taken a look at the Terriers’ next five opponents in the division following the gap in their schedule.
Thursday – Bolton Wanderers (H)
Steven Schumacher’s side head to the Accu Stadium in ninth place, having registered 17 points after 12 games of the season.
The Trotters have won four, drawn five and lost three of their league games so far, but are winless on their travels so far this term.
The Whites have drawn three and lost three away from home, and were beaten 3-0 at Burton Albion last time out on Saturday. Conversely, Wanderers have been strong at home so far this season, taking 14 points from their opening six home matches.
Thursday’s visitors currently have the league’s top goalscorer within their ranks, with Mason Burstow having netted seven goals for the Trotters so far this term.
October 25 – Wycombe Wanderers (A)
The Terriers then face a reunion with former boss Michael Duff, who was appointed by the Chairboys last month.
The new boss has picked up seven points from his first four league games in charge, with Wycombe having previously taken five points from their opening eight matches of the season prior to Mike Dodds’ dismissal.
Duff spent just shy of ten months in charge of the Terriers last term, before being sacked in March after his side dropped out of the play-off places.
Eight of Wycombe’s 12 points so far this term have been claimed at Adams Park, with the Chairboys having registered home wins against Mansfield Town and Northampton Town.
November 8 – Plymouth Argyle (H)
Following two cup games against Bolton and Mansfield Town in the FA Cup and EFL Trophy respectively, the Terriers will return to league action once more with a home clash against the Pilgrims.
Tom Cleverley’s side started the season slowly following their relegation from the Championship, beginning their League One campaign with a six-game winless streak.
However, Argyle have since picked up ten points from their last five league games, leaving them 18th in the table on 13 points.
Striker Lorent Tolaj has netted six goals in his first nine matches for the Pilgrims since joining the club from Port Vale in August.
November 15 – Cardiff City (A)
The Terriers will then face another relegated side in the Bluebirds, who sit third in the table, on 23 points after 11 games.
The Welsh outfit started the season with five wins and two draws from their opening seven league matches, but have lost two of their last four games, at home to Bradford City and Burton Albion. However, the Bluebirds are the only side yet to lose away from home in the division.
Only Bradford and Leyton Orient have scored more goals than Cardiff’s 19 netted so far, while only Stevenage have conceded less than the nine the Bluebirds have let in.
November 22 – Mansfield Town (A)
The Stags currently occupy the final spot in the top half, after winning four, drawing three and losing four of their league matches so far.
Nigel Clough’s side picked up ten points from their opening six matches in August, and a further five from their five games since.
The Stags have won three of their opening five league games at Field Mill, with just one win registered on their travels to date.
