The team from Circular Malton & Norton CIC are seeking residents’ opinions on shopping and eating in Wheelgate in Malton, the home of their new circular hub.
Thanks to the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority Mayoral Fund for creating vibrant and sustainable high streets, the Circular team are inviting all the businesses in Wheelgate together to discuss a variety of ideas that will appeal to existing and new shoppers, young and older and will create a place that people enjoy visiting and using frequently.

They will then trial these ideas later this year and gauge the impact.
Sue Jefferson, Co-Founder and Director of Malton & Norton CIC said: “We moved to Wheelgate as the original high street where we see local people, of every age, shopping or meeting friends everyday.
“Their feedback has been very heartening about our new hub which features Ryedale Remakes upcycling and Marnie Jean’s Pre-Loved clothing Boutique as well as a studio.”
Sue added: We’d like to see Wheelgate vibrant and have a special place in the hearts of locals. Whilst a range of interested people have put forward ideas from pedestrianising to fashion shows to rewards for frequent shoppers, it is most important that the ideas we introduce are the ones that our Malton and Norton residents most want to see and will bring them to shop more in Wheelgate. So our independent survey is now live and we want as many people and especially young people to share their views and ideas.”
