A good number of the biggest games in the world are shooters, but the genre is also bursting with under-the-radar gems, from tactical FPS games and isometric actioners to short, sharp bursts of indie adrenaline like Dead Trash. Now, Fanatical’s Build Your Own Shooter bundle gives you the chance to play some of the very best for as little as $1.45 each.
Our best FPS games list is heavily contested, and with each passing year, more upcoming PC games make it harder for those stranger titles to get their chance in the spotlight.
Thankfully, Fanatical‘s Build Your Own Shooter bundle is filled with indie games and lesser-known titles that you’ve perhaps never heard of. Take the Dead Trash, for example, which Ed called “one of the nastiest, meanest new FPS games” in his earlier coverage.
If Dead Trash’s stylized visuals work for you, Hyper Demon may offer a similar thrill. Agressively hard and fast, it’s a spirtual successor to the similarly excellent Devil Daggers that plays and looks unlike anything outside of developer Sorath’s own work.
If you want something a little slower and more methodical, The Ascent is certainly that. Sprinkling elements of the best RPGs, including equipping different cyberware, you’ll fight to survive in a dangerous cyberpunk world.
Looking for something even slower? One that requires precise movements? Well, look no further than Hellpoint, which is a sorely underrated soulslike shooter set in a spaceship befitting of some of the best horror games.
If you buy just three of these games through Fanatical’s Build Your Own Shooter Bundle, it will only set you back $4.95 / £4.95, giving you hours of fun without breaking the bank. However, the more you buy, the more you save, with seven or more games setting you back just $1.45 / £1.45 each.
Personally, I’d recommend The Ascent, Pathologic 2, and Post Void as some top choices, but any of these shooters will give you your money’s worth. Check out the full list of games available below:
