Almost five years after the final episode of Game of Thrones, Kit Harington and Sophie Turner will work together once again in The Dreadful, a gothic horror film written and directed by Natasha Kermani (Lucky, V/H/S/85).
In the successful HBO series that adapts part of George R. R. Martin’s acclaimed work, Turner played Sansa Stark, one of the daughters of Eddard Stark and Catelyn Tully. For his part, Harington gave life to the legendary Jon Snow, who at the end of the series was revealed to be a Targaryen, more precisely Aegon Targaryen, son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Now the pair will be coming together in a very different setting to Westeros in their new movie.

According to Deadline, the actors will reunite to star in The Dreadful, a gothic horror story set during the Wars of the Roses. The plot centers on Anne (Turner), who lives a sad and lonely life on the margins of society with her mother-in-law, Morwen. But the arrival of a mysterious man from her past (Harington) forces Anne to face a series of events that will mark her life forever, for better or worse.
Besides playing one of the most important characters in Game of Thrones, Turner was part of the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, playing none other than Jean Grey. Since the series finale and the premiere of the final installment of the mutant saga, the actress has appeared in the thriller Every Last Secret, the Netflix teen comedy Do Revenge, and the animated series Storybots: Answer Time. Harington joined the Marvel universe in Eternals, playing Dane Whitman aka Black Knight, and will hopefully return someday. Additionally, he participated in the films Baby Ruby, Blood or Dust, and the series Modern Love, Extrapolations, Lot No 249, and had a small role in Industry.
Is Jon Snow Returning for a Game of Thrones Spin-off Series?
The Game of Thrones universe has expanded beyond the original series, with House of the Dragon now ready to see its second season fly later this year and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight in development. But will Jon Snow ever appear in his own spin-off?
A solo series center on the popular character was part of the long list of projects that HBO is considering to develop in the future to keep building a legacy around this powerful franchise. However, the most recent information provided by the author himself is that none of those shows, except those already announced by HBO, have been confirmed yet.
For now, the only thing that is 100% certain is the long-awaited return of House of the Dragon with its second season, which is expected to premiere later this year.
