A former pub is to be demolished to make way for a new care home in Sheffield.
Plans have been approved by the city council for the Wordsworth Tavern site in Parson Cross to be knocked down and a 68-bed residence built in its place.
The care home would be “luxurious” and would include landscaped gardens, according to planning documents.
“There is a clear need for the site to be developed to increase the quality of a building that serves the community,” the application said.
