Members of the family of an 80-year-old man who died after being attacked in his own home in 2015 have made a renewed appeal for information.
Tommy Ward was seriously injured at his home on Salisbury Road, in Maltby, Rotherham, on 1 October 2015 during an incident in which about £30,000 in cash was also believed to have been stolen. He died in hospital four months later.
Last month, a 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Mr Ward’s death and was bailed pending further inquiries.
In a statement, his family appealed for anyone with information about who was responsible for his death to “come forward”.
