Emily Blunt has a groundbreaking opinion of where her The Devil Wears Prada character is today (Hint: It’s not one stomach flu away from her goal weight). At the premiere of Blunt’s new film Fall Guy, in which she stars alongside Ryan Gosling, the actress said she hopes her character, also named Emily, has moved on from her unrealistic diet.
“I just hope she’s eating a nice French dip sandwich somewhere and she’s just happy,” she told E! News. Perhaps the next piece of fan fiction focuses on Emily Charlton opening her own sandwich shop. “Not a cube of cheese. I hope she’s sort of transitioned into a proper sandwich at this point.”

Blunt’s former co-star Anne Hathaway, who played Andy Sachs, has also imagined where the young assistant would be today. “I think Andy is in Paris, and I think that she is writing for a wonderful French women’s magazine,” she told E! in a previous interview. “I think she’s a staff writer, and she speaks French fluently. And I don’t think she’s married, but she might have a child or two. I think she’s pretty fab.”
Unfortunately, however, it doesn’t sound like we’ll be getting a glimpse into their lives present day. While promoting her new movie The Idea of You, Hathaway shut down fan theories that a sequel to the beloved film is in the works.
“I wouldn’t hold out too much hope,” she told Extra earlier this week.

Despite the cast not being on board for a sequel, they have only good things to say about the 2006 movie. Blunt previously credited the film with developing her personal sense of fashion. “I didn’t know enough in any way about the fashion industry going into that movie,” she told Variety last year. “I think I’d just been dressing like a teenage boy until that happened, and I learned a lot.”
