Emergency services called to flat fire in Castlegate, Malton

At 6.17pm both Malton engines were mobilised to a flat fire on Castlegate.

A spokesperson for Malton Fire Station said: “On arrival, all occupants had left the building and crews found the first floor flat to be smoke logged

“A crew wearing breathing apparatus entered the building with a hose reel, and located a cooker that had been on fire but had consequently burnt itself out.
