The BBC has announced a new documentary titled “P Diddy: The Rise and Fall,” set to premiere on April 28, which will delve into the dramatic rise and recent controversies surrounding music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Hosted by journalist Yinka Bokinni, the documentary promises to explore the celebrity ecosystem that elevated Diddy to global stardom and the alleged systemic protection that may have shielded him from accountability for years. “This has been an emotional, sometimes difficult experience,” Bokinni said, reflecting on the gravity of the story and its implications for the entertainment industry.
The BBC documentary comes as Diddy awaits trial on sex trafficking charges, currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. During a recent court appearance, a sketch artist depicted the Bad Boy Records founder as visibly aged, with grey hair, a disheveled beard, and a noticeably leaner frame—signs of a significant physical transformation since his incarceration. Despite requesting a delay due to new charges, the judge denied the motion, with jury selection slated for May 5 and opening statements to follow on May 12. Diddy and his legal team have not commented on his health or appearance.

Afrobeats superstar Davido has hit another career milestone as his fifth studio album, “5ive,” debuts at #1 on the UK Spotify Album Chart. This remarkable achievement cements Davido’s status as a global force in music, following the album’s earlier success in Nigeria, where it recorded the second highest opening week ever on Spotify Nigeria. Released on April 18, “5ive” boasts 17 tracks and a rich roster of local and international collaborators, showcasing Davido’s expansive musical vision.
The album features standout appearances from Nigerian stars like Omah Lay, Victony, OdumoduBlvck, and Chike, as well as global acts including Victoria Monét, Becky G, and Jamaican talent YG Marley. The track with Monét, “Offa Me,” accompanied by a newly released music video, is already gaining traction, while fan-favorite “Awuke,” featuring Marley, served as the project’s lead single. In a recent interview on Clue Radio, Davido revealed that he played a hands-on role in the album’s production, rediscovering a creative spark that further shaped “5ive” into a genre-blending, chart-topping body of work.
3. The Trump Organization is selling 2028 hats
And there it is.

The Trump Organization has begun selling red “Trump 2028” hats and T-shirts on its online store, sparking renewed speculation about President Donald Trump’s intentions beyond his second term. The merchandise, which features slogans like “Rewrite the Rules,” is being marketed despite the constitutional prohibition against a third presidential term. The 22nd Amendment explicitly bars any individual from being elected president more than twice. Trump was first elected in 2016 and then again in 2024. While the White House redirected questions about the apparel to the Trump Organization, press secretary Karoline Leavitt simply remarked, “It’s a cool hat and I suspect it will be highly popular!”
The move adds fuel to ongoing rumors that Trump may be considering an unprecedented attempt to seek a third term. In a March interview, Trump did not definitively rule out a 2028 run, saying, “A lot of people want me to do it,” and teasing that “there are methods” to secure another term. Despite insisting it’s “far too early” to make a decision, the sale of $50 hats and $36 shirts bearing the “Trump 2028” slogan has raised eyebrows and drawn criticism from legal experts and political observers alike. The Trump Organization has not commented on the intent behind the merchandise, leaving the public to wonder whether it’s a marketing stunt or a signal of serious political ambition.

Harvard University will host a special screening of “Gentleman: The Legend of Mike Ejeagha,” a documentary that explores the life, legacy, and cultural impact of the iconic Nigerian highlife musician. The event, organized by the African Language Program under the Department of African and African American Studies, will be held on Thursday, April 24, during the Igbo AB class lecture at 10 a.m. ET. Directed by Michael Chineme Ike and produced by Micstreams Production Ltd., the film delves into Ejeagha’s significant contributions to Nigerian music, language preservation, and oral storytelling traditions. Known for weaving Igbo proverbs and folklore into his music since the 1960s, Ejeagha has long been celebrated as a guardian of indigenous wisdom and cultural heritage.
The documentary, which premiered in Enugu in December 2024, features rare interviews, archival footage, and narrative insights tracing Ejeagha’s early life and enduring influence. The Harvard screening underscores a growing academic and global interest in African music as a medium for cultural preservation and education. Attendees will also engage in a Q&A session with director Michael Chineme Ike, fostering discussion on the challenges and importance of documenting African artistic practices. Ejeagha’s work, known for its depth, wit, and linguistic beauty, continues to resonate across generations, both in Nigeria and among the global Igbo diaspora. The screening is part of a broader initiative to spotlight African cultural icons and their role in shaping collective memory and identity.
5. Real Madrid dealt a double injury blow

Real Madrid have suffered a major setback ahead of their highly anticipated Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, with manager Carlo Ancelotti confirming that both David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga will miss the match due to injury. Alaba was forced off at halftime during Madrid’s narrow 1-0 win over Getafe, with Camavinga coming on as a replacement. However, the French midfielder also ended the match in discomfort, and subsequent scans revealed a complete tear of his left adductor tendon, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
The injuries further deepen Madrid’s selection crisis, with the squad already missing key players like Ferland Mendy, Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, and Kylian Mbappe. Ancelotti, whose own future at the club is under scrutiny, now faces the daunting task of reshuffling his depleted side for the final showdown with their fierce rivals. “It’s difficult for them to be there for Saturday,” Ancelotti admitted, highlighting Fran García as the only fit option at left back. With their Champions League hopes dashed and trailing Barcelona in La Liga, Saturday’s final could be Madrid’s last shot at silverware this season.
