Ajiboye had initially joined York on a short-term loan from Peterborough United in November, with the winger re-uniting with first-team manager Adam Hinshelwood, after the pair had worked together at Worthing in the past.
The move came after Ajiboye had been transfer listed by Peterborough, with his contract due to expire with the Posh at the end of the 2024/25 season.
During his time with City, Ajiboye managed nine appearances, two of which came in the FA Trophy.
Ajiboye registered two goals as well, his first in a 3-1 win over Darlington, after being sent through one-on-one against Pete Jameson.
He also scored against Southend United, flicking Malachi Fagan-Walcott’s header home in a 3-0 win.
York confirmed four days ago that Ajiboye had returned to parent club Peterborough with his loan contract ending, with Hinshelwood holding a recruitment meeting earlier this week to plan for the remainder of the campaign.
Since his return to Peterborough, Ajiboye has been snapped up by League Two side Newport County until the end of the season.
Newport are currently in 18th position of League Two, and are just six points clear of Morecambe within the relegation zone.
A run of three straight defeats, and nine goals conceded in that time, means that Newport are in need of form to pull away from the drop zone.
Ajiboye spoke on his move to Newport, telling the club website: “I’m delighted to be here and to get it all done. It’s something I’ve really wanted.
“I’ve been speaking with my agent and Peterborough about the move. Newport showed interest, and everything sounded positive. I also had a great conversation with the manager, which really convinced me.
“I think having plenty of games under my belt will definitely help coming in.
“A lot of players benefit from experience, and I hope I can contribute to the team and help us move up the table.
“I’m quick, I like to dribble with the ball at my feet, and I can deliver a good cross which hopefully can pay off for us in attack.
“My aim is to hit the ground running straight away. Get lots of assists, score plenty of goals, and, of course, plenty of wins for the team this season.
“That’s what every player dreams of – hitting the ground running. Hopefully, I can get a goal or an assist early on and build from there.
“I’m really looking forward to the opportunity. I’ve played here a few times before, so it’s exciting to now be on the other side and playing for Newport in front of the Amber Army.”
Ajiboye could make his Newport debut in Saturday’s visit to Port Vale (3pm).
