The multi-year, multi-million pound deal sees Clearpoint Recycling of Harrogate supplying more than 30,000 tonnes of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) every year to Cheshire-based Enviroo’s new recycling facility at Ellesmere Port, due open in 2027.
PET is widely used for food and drink packaging, especially clear plastic bottles, plus textiles and films.
The waste PET, which will be sourced from across the UK, will be recycled into certified food-grade recycled PET (rPET) to meet a growing global demand for such packaging.

The partners say this will divert waste plastics from landfills and reduce plastic pollutions of the oceans.
In a statement, the company, founded in 2012, described the deal as ‘nine-figure’ but did not give a precise value.
Clearpoint Recycling managing director Mark Garret said: ““The plant is a much-needed outlet for PET to be converted into certified food-grade rPET, which the UK market is crying out for.
“This partnership enables us to remain independent while creating high-skilled jobs across our business units and reinforcing our commitment to sourcing locally and selling globally. We look forward to collaborating with existing and new suppliers to ensure the success of this vital facility.”
The deal is expected to create numerous skilled roles across both commercial and operational areas of the business. It comes as Clearpoint continues to expand, including its recent entry into the European market.
Clearpoint also said the major deal would boost the UK’s recycling infrastructure, as well as support the Governments Deposit Return Scheme (DRS), also due in 2027, ensuring a robust supply chain for recovered PET bottles.
Ahmed Detta, CEO of Enviroo, added: “This landmark agreement with Clearpoint Recycling is a significant step forward in strengthening the UK’s circular economy.
“By securing a consistent, high-quality supply of PET material, we are ensuring that our Ellesmere Port facility plays a crucial role in turning waste into valuable, certified, food-grade rPET. It also contributes to job creation, community development, and innovation across the recycling sector.”
