Chery Tweedy rumoured to be joining ITV’s The Voice
The Voice sees a panel of four coaches who turn their chairs for singing talents, before the singers pick one to be their mentor.
The coaches guide their teams of selected artists through the remainder of the series, with the winner receiving a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
The new series will see new judge Kelly Rowland, Sir Tom Jones and McFly pair Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher as the mentors.
It is reported that the Newcastle-born singer will partner with the fourth and final mentor, will.i.am.
An insider told The Sun: “Will.i.am and Cheryl first worked together 16 years ago and have remained good friends ever since.
“She was the obvious choice to mentor his team when the Battle Rounds returned four years after being axed.
“A lot has happened in Cheryl’s personal life since she was last working on a talent show, so she’s taking baby steps to put herself back out there.
“Teaming up with will.i.am as a guest mentor seems the perfect way to kick-start her comeback.”
The new series of The Voice is expected to air at the beginning of 2026.
