Grammy-winning DJ Cedric Gervais, known globally for his electrifying performances and chart-topping tracks, has brought a unique fusion of music and cuisine to Aspen with his latest venture, Madame Ushi. A resident of Snowmass, Colorado, Gervais felt the absence of a high-quality sushi destination that could combine culinary excellence with an immersive musical experience. Thus, Madame Ushi was born, setting a new standard for hospitality in Aspen.
Cedric Gervais has always been a visionary, and his restaurant Madame Ushi is no exception. Drawing on his extensive experience dining at some of the world’s most prestigious establishments and his personal connections with culinary legends like Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa, Gervais has crafted a dining experience that is as much about the atmosphere as it is about the food. Madame Ushi offers a refined sushi cuisine that caters to the sophisticated palates of Aspen’s residents and visitors.
The menu is a testament to legacy chefs with a rich history of success. Chef Jesus Alvaro is Madame Ushi’s sushi chef who mastered his craft for eight years at Matsuisa. As well as Chef Jake Eaton whose dedication is to quality and innovation, featuring dishes that are both visually stunning and delectably complex. Chef Eaton mastered his craft for ten years at Nobu prior to his home at Madame Ushi. One of the standout items is the Chrome Heart roll, a favorite among celebrities including the Biebers, which has quickly become a signature dish of the restaurant.
Gervais didn’t stop at creating a culinary gem; he extended his vision to the Madame Ushi Lounge, a venue designed to host some of the biggest names in the DJ world. This unique space allows patrons to enjoy world-class sushi while experiencing live sets from renowned DJs. The lounge has already seen performances from famous musicians like Diplo, attracting a high-profile clientele and making it the go-to spot for nightlife in Aspen.
The lounge’s ambiance is meticulously crafted to complement the dining experience, with music that enhances the emotions conveyed through the cuisine. This seamless blend of food and music has filled a void in Aspen’s hospitality scene, offering an unparalleled experience that resonates with both locals and visitors.
Madame Ushi has rapidly become a celebrity hotspot. Kevin Costner is a regular, and the restaurant’s reputation for excellence has made it a must-visit destination for stars visiting Aspen. The combination of gourmet sushi, a luxurious atmosphere, and the allure of live DJ performances has everyone buzzing. This unique concept has positioned Madame Ushi as a gold mine of culinary and entertainment vision, drawing crowds eager to see and be seen.
Cedric Gervais’s journey to becoming a restaurateur is rooted in his illustrious music career. Born in Marseille, France, Gervais moved to Miami at the age of 15 to pursue his dreams in music. His breakthrough came with the 2013 hit “Summertime Sadness” remix, which won a Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. Over the years, he has played at some of the world’s most prestigious clubs and festivals, earning a reputation as one of the leading figures in electronic dance music (EDM).
Leveraging his global experiences and deep understanding of the entertainment industry, Gervais has seamlessly transitioned into the culinary world. Madame Ushi is not just a restaurant; it’s a revolution in Aspen’s hospitality scene. With Cedric Gervais at the helm, the future looks bright for this innovative fusion of food and music. As the restaurant continues to attract high-profile guests and rave reviews, it’s clear that Madame Ushi is set to become a staple of Aspen’s culinary and nightlife landscape.
