Castle Howard announced in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) that they will be closed for the entirety of today, January 5.
The statement read: “Due to heavy snowfall this morning we must put the safety of our team and visitors first, and therefore the whole site will be close for the day.
“All ticket holders will be contacted. We apologise for the disappointment.”
Joining them in the closures is the ice skating rink at Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland, based at the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet in York.
After cancelling their morning sessions, they said: “Unfortunately due to the amount of snow fall we are experiencing we have had to cancel our sessions until 12.15pm.
“We will be monitoring the weather for 12.15pm sessions onwards. Thank you for your patience.”
