Barbie Star Ariana Greenblatt Teases Her Role in Now You See Me 3

Barbie and Star Wars star Ariana Greenblatt has teased her upcoming role in the highly anticipated sequel Now You See Me 3. In a recent interview with Nylon, Greenblatt shared that she would soon be flying to Budapest for the next few months to start filming the heist threequel, and teased how she and the cast are honing their magic skills in preparation for their next big trick. With the cast already practicing and perfecting their craft, we cannot help but wonder what new tricks the filmmakers have up their sleeves. Now You See Me 3 is the highly anticipated third installment of the crime-thriller franchise led by Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman. No details on Greenblatt’s character have yet been released, but based on what she has now revealed, we can no doubt safely assume she will be playing another magician.

Ariana Greenblatt’s star is now rapidly on the rise, with the young actor having now appeared in several big hits and major franchises, including last summer’s box office smash Barbie alongside Margot Robbie and the Star Wars series Ahsoka on Disney+. Her latest movie, Borderlands, landed in theaters August 9th.

What Happened in Now You See Me & Its Sequel?

The original Now You See Me follows a team of magicians known as the “Four Horsemen,” who pull off a series of daring heists with a vigilante “Robin Hood” style flare, using their skills in illusion, persuasion, sleight-of-hand, and performance. The outlaws include card master J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), hypnosist Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), pick pocket Jack Wilder (Dave Franco), and stage performer Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher). Meanwhile, they play a game of cat and mouse with the FBI while catching the attention of the mysterious former magician turned debunker, Thaddeous Bradley (Morgan Freeman).

Now You See Me mystified audiences with its original concept, glossy look, and dynamic editing. The powerhouse ensemble of actors elevated the film and overall it was well received. A sequel soon appeared in 2016’s Now You See Me 2, which continues the story of the Four Horsemen after a foe exposes them, threatening their lives, integrity, and reputations. Ilsa Fisher did not reprise her role, with Lizzy Caplan joining the cast alongside Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.

While the sequel drew less favorable reviews, fans were no less excited by the release of a third film. Ruben Fleischer, known for Zombieland, Venom, and Uncharted, is set to direct. Details about the plot remain as mysterious as the magic in the films, but the movie is expected to delve deeper into the origins and secrets of the elite group of magicians known as “The Eye.” This time all the legendary Four Horsemen, Ilsa Fisher, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, and Dave Franco, are returning, with reports also claiming that Mark Ruffalo and Morgan Freeman will also reprise their roles. New faces include Greenblat, Rosamund Pike, Justice Smith, and Dominic Sessa.
