Police, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene on the A1079, near Murton, at 1.25pm yesterday (Sunday, June 23).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said multiple vehicles were involved in the crash.

One person was cut from a vehicle on the scene, a service spokesperson added.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said five ambulances, two air ambulances and two operational commanders were called.
“Two patients were conveyed to Leeds General Infirmary and three patients were taken to York Hospital,” an ambulance service spokesperson said.
As The Press reported, the A1079 Hull Road was closed in both directions from Common Road in Dunnington to the A64 Grimston Bar Interchange after the crash.
North Yorkshire Police urged motorists to find an alternative route while the closure was in place.
